Small Group Private Acting Coach-4 Week Intensive
Get quality and professional feedback and coaching on that audition piece, monologue,
scene or song you’ve been working on.
Acting is a community discipline. We need an audience to help us know if we are telling a
story that is truthful and impactful. In between audiences, and most often in preparation for
an audience, actors seek the guidance of a private acting coach to help refine a character,
become aware of and break habits, overcome a performance obstacle, dig deeper
emotionally, connect to a scene or character, prepare for a role or audition.
Our coaching time will involve all of the above including self-tapes and live performances,
evaluations and feedback.
Student Artists are required to choose one published monologue or scene/song to be
viewed and evaluated during our live class time.
Points of Evaluation include:
Voice and Speech
Student’s Understanding of Material
Physicality and Movement
Timing and Pacing
Depending on a student’s level of experience and expressed interest, students will:
- Learn to identify both actor and character goals and objectives.
- Steps to prepare for an audition and for any role.
- Learn what acting techniques solve what acting problems.
- Identify what acting exercises work to help them reach their goals.
- Gain knowledge through teacher and student feedback as well as through the
observation of others.
- Learn to self evaluate.
- Master the Self-tape
