WhatupHomee presents a Black History Month Special Event.
Monday, February 15th will be offering FREE special events
throughout the day to celebrate Black history and affirm Black culture.
These are two of WhatupHomee’s core values.

Beginning @12:30pm CST
We will celebrate the Harlem Renaissance Arts With Ms. Lisa.
Join us as we explore the rich history of the Harlem Renaissance in this
read-aloud and art expression. Prior to the event, choose one jazz
instrument of interest: trumpet, saxophone, string bass, drums, piano,
trombone, or guitar (or any other favorite instrument).

Bring pencils and/or markers with a printed or drawn picture of your instrument
of choice to the event. Make sure to leave plenty of room for writing on
your paper. This event is ideal for ages 6-12 but everyone is welcome.

Beginning @2pm CST
We’ll have Black History Presentations with the Homee(s).
We’re asking parents to encourage their child(ren) to select their favorite Black
historical figure and prepare a 5-minute presentation to share.
We’d like all the homee(s) to participate: Mini Homee(s) age 7 and under, Lil’ Homee(s)
age 8-12, and Young Homee(s) age 13 and up.

They can create artwork, a poster board, Google slides to share,
do a monologue, recite a poem, dress up, or anything else they’d like
to do to share what they’ve learned about their chosen historical figure.

Contact mishawnda@whatuphomee.com if your child(ren) would like to participate.

RSVP Now to receive access to both of these exclusive special events!
