Black Boys in Literature
In this 6-week course, we will read the novel ‘As Brave as You’ by Jason Reynolds. The focus will be to discuss the writing techniques used for character building and identifying societal themes that go into the process of writing a story. Throughout the course, students will learn how to craft character descriptions and the steps to growing a story while reflecting on the connections they take from the book. • Good morning,
Is it too late to register my son for the class? I am trying to inspire him to want to read even when he struggles with words. I am thinking if he sees others like him that he may be encouraged. Thoughts?

    • Hi Sophia! Thanks for reaching out!

No, it’s not too late. Books will be shipped this weekend. Classes start next Saturday, January 23rd.
